Wisconsin Center District Funding
The Wisconsin Center District (WCD) is funded through operational income and does not rely on any property taxes. Within the boundaries of Milwaukee County, WCD receives tax revenue of 3% on hotel rooms, 3% on car rentals which originate at General Mitchell International Airport and 0.5% on food and beverages sales. It also receives a 7% hotel room tax within the city of Milwaukee.
