Wisconsin Center District named a 2025 Top Workplace

Survey shows WCD staff love their employee experience

Wisconsin Center District (WCD) has again been named a Top Workplace in Southeastern Wisconsin by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

This is the second time the WCD has received this incredible designation, which is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The survey measures overall workplace experience and categories such as employees feeling respected and supported, enabled to grow and empowered to execute.

As staff at the WCD has roughly doubled to around 500 in the last two years, growth has not deterred its mission of developing and maintaining a workplace culture that makes it one of the best places to work in the greater Milwaukee area.

“Bold, proud and experience obsessed extends beyond the work we do for our clients,” Wisconsin Center District President and CEO Marty Brooks said. “We are, and we want to continue to be, an employer of choice in our community. We want people to want to work here, and this recognition shows that our employees enjoy their work and are proud of the role they play in making Milwaukee a not-to-be-missed destination.”

Wisconsin Center District has taken numerous steps to continue to enhance workplace culture and set a standard for employee care in the Milwaukee business community. These efforts have included providing employees free parking and bus passes, offering nutritious five-dollar weekday hot lunches and raising minimum starting salary to $17 per hour.

Additionally, WCD continues to improve communications with its diverse staff through internal employee surveys and quarterly town halls to ensure our all employees, whether full- or part-time, feel represented, important and heard.

“You can’t provide unforgettable experiences if you don’t have an environment where employees feel empowered and trusted,” Wisconsin Center District Vice President of Human Resources Nila Tuckson said. “We know the continuous nurturing and development of our Bold. Proud. Experience Obsessed culture is our number one priority, which is why we will never stop innovating and looking for better ways to engage with our staff.”
